Melissa Noel Neal
With a degree in art history from Georgetown University, my initial direction was not design, but the art and auction house world. A twist of fate intervened, and my first job out of college was with a world-renowned interior designer. This gave me a wonderful opportunity to see the design business from many perspectives, including helping with the launch of a fabric line in London, as well as an event at the British Embassy to celebrate their textile history.
I have experience both the design and the public relations sides of the business, having also worked for a PR company in the design world. There, I had the chance to watch top interior design photographers shoot the projects we represented and help bring them to the glossy pages of design magazines.
As a result of my background, I would describe my style as timeless and enduring. I encourage my clients to hone their aesthetic, to continue or begin collections that speak to them, and to think about what truly makes them happiest in a space.
None of my projects look alike. I believe that each client and each house tells you what it needs. My priority is to make each space unique and tailored to the individual client. Comfort and durability have become a focus, and I use fabrics and pieces that will fit well into a lifestyle with children, animals, and a busy modern life. I want my clients to walk into their homes and exhale, knowing that this is their refuge where they can be surrounded by the things they love.
Living the country life myself, I live in Middleburg with my two Cavaliers, my Golden Retriever and many canine friends who visit and make themselves right at home.
Please feel free to contact me regarding any size project you might have. I look forward to being of service.
